Weinstein Legal Founder and Personal Injury Attorney Justin Weinstein recently participated on a panel for FAU Honors College Road to Law School.

In this video Justin talks about the importance of mentorship and finding a mentor to help college graduates in their future careers.

JUSTIN WEINSTEIN: When looking for a mentor, it doesn’t necessarily have to be someone you intern with, but what’s stopping anybody from picking up the phone and calling me and saying, or another partner of another law firm and saying, hey, I’m curious about your area of law. I’d love to sit down to pick your brain, maybe coffee…

I mean sometimes people are very busy so they might not get back to you right away, but I would be happy to spend five, ten minutes at least with a student who’s actually interested in showing interest, so mentorship to me is something that kind of gets overlooked. A lot of people get bogged down and busy with the things that they have to do, but it could be one of the most important, because it could give you some insight.

Specifically with a practicing attorney in a field that either you have interest in, or you’re not sure if you have interest in, you have interest in it, but if you get all that information from someone who’s steps ahead of you in the place that you’re trying to get to, it’s just it’s all the more resourceful or more knowledge for you to make your decision.

So taking that time, sending a quick email to someone even. My email is on my website, I don’t mind. Shameless plug. I did it and I don’t mind you emailing me even after this if you wanted to if you were in Fort Lauderdale or West Palm. Mentorship is great, and I don’t stand in the shoes of an admissions director, but if you were putting it on your resume, mentorship with so-and-so, I think that that could also be powerful, especially if it’s someone well-known in that community.

THC OIL Possession Felony Charge
