MATT SHAFRAN: Hey guys, attorney Matt Shafran here from Weinstein Legal, where we practice personal injury and criminal defense cases. The mayor of Fort Lauderdale signed a new emergency order on April 10th which goes into effect on April 11th and lasts until April 30th. This order states that if you are an employee or a customer at a grocery store, pharmacy or restaurant, including the delivery personnel, then you must wear a mask. You are required to wear a mask inside those establishments.
Other essential businesses are strongly encouraged to do the same, but if you are one of those businesses, a grocery store, a pharmacy, or a restaurant, and you’re a customer or you’re an employee and you are in those establishments and not wearing a mask then you can be arrested and charged with a second degree misdemeanor punishable by up to a $500 fine and 60 days in jail.
